citing README:
| Before mailing a bug-report to tin-bugs at tin.org please check if you are
| using the latest (stable) release, and if not, please upgrade first!
those reports were against tin-2.6.2-r2 (I didn't bother to check which, if
any, fixed were backported from tin 2.6.3 in "-r2"), latest release is
2.6.3 and it has some fixes for configure which are required if using
strict compilers.
regardings socks (i doubt that anyone is still using socks4 these days, so
the configuration is at least questionable), you may want to try the latest
snapshot or wait for tin-2.6.4 as it has some configure fixes for socks
detection. or simply build without socks.
