I doubt that anyone is working on this (it's on the tod-list for roughly
two decades now and the number active developers is is slowly approaching
zero - feel free to do something about it ,-) as that would require to
switch from fputs(3)/fgets(3) on the socket(2) to read(2)/write(2) to be
able to use any of the well known libs for SSL (gnutls, openssl).

stunnel(1) may be used for implicit TLS (encrytpted session from the start
(port 563) (RFC 8143), no use of STARTTLS (RFC 4642)) as workaround.
